Loop Earplugs Review 2025: Are Switch 2, Quiet 2, and Experience 2 Worth It?
If you’re anything like me, overstimulation is real. Whether it’s the construction outside my home in a new neighborhood, the chatter in coffee shops when I’m trying to focus, or even just trying to wind down for sleep, my ears are on sensory overload. It's always been difficult to find a way to drown out the noise without having to wear headphones, or without having to put non-aesthetic foam pieces in my ears. I’d seen Loop Earplugs pop up everywhere: TikTok, Instagram, Reddit threads, and finally decided to put the hype to the test.
Loop isn’t just another pair of earplugs. They’re sleek, reusable, and actually designed with style and comfort in mind. I tested three of their most popular products: Switch 2, Quiet 2, and Experience 2. Turns out, not all loops are the same. Here’s everything you need to know before you click "add to cart."
Before I tried Loop, I thought earplugs were strictly functional. You know, those basic foam ones you grab on a flight or from the drugstore. Loop earplugs flips that idea completely. The circular design is modern and low-key. They almost look like little earrings and don’t scream "earplugs." They’re made from soft silicone and come with different ear tip sizes, which was great because I have small ears and a lot of other plugs fall out. They’re also reusable and super easy to clean, which I appreciate because I hate waste. Each style has its own special use case and level of noise reduction, so it's not just one-size-fits-all. I like that Loop is very upfront about what each product does best. It helped me choose the right set for different parts of my daily routine; and honestly, I never thought I’d have a collection of earplugs.
This one was definitely the most flexible. It comes with a switch-like mechanism (no pun intended) that lets you switch between three different settings: Engage, Experience, and Quiet. I used it for working at coffee shops, working from home, and even out at a lively and busy restuarant to put the engage and experience settings to the test.
One downside? If you have longer nails like me, it’s really hard to adjust the setting on the earplug. I kept having to push it around in my ear to adjust it. I imagine it would be tough for someone with bigger fingers too.
It took a few tries before I got the hang of changing the settings without pulling the entire earplug out. Once you get used to it, it’s manageable - but I don’t see myself switching modes while walking or on the go. Still, it’s great to have the flexibility when I need it.
I really liked how it softened the sounds around me without making me feel cut off. I've always struggled with complete silence while out in public as I want to be aware of my surroundings. So with the engage and experience modes on, I felt like I could really get the perfect balance of noise reduction without isolation. With the Loop Earplugs in quiet mode, I could zone out. These really are the best earplugs when you still want to feel part of the world, just at a lower volume.
These were my go-to for sleep. I’m a light sleeper, and the tiniest sounds can wake me up. Quiet 2 helped me stay asleep and wind down without making me feel like I was stuck in a vacuum. They were extremely comfortable and didn't fall out while I slept either. I could still faintly hear my alarm, which was a win. Ultimately, this was one the biggest reasons I have refrained from using other earplugs while sleeping in the past - no one likes to sleep through their alarm.
One Saturday morning, my neighbors had their construction crew arrive bright and early to start their backyard renovations. Normally I’d be tossing and turning, but Quiet 2 took the edge off enough for me to relax and get some extra moments of shut-eye. I’ve also used them during a migraine flare and let me tell you - these combined with a cold compress was enough to knock it out in no time. I'm officially a believer in how sound impacts so much of our daily lives.
Although I have yet to try out the Loop Earplugs during a big travel day, I have confidence that these would be a must-have item when trying to relax and sleep on an airplane. As someone who still wants to be able to hear major callouts from the flight attendants or pilot, but also craves a little more beauty sleep prior to arrival, these Quiet 2 Loop Earplugs would be the perfect travel companion.
If you struggle with insomnia, have a snoring partner, or just want to escape a noisy world, these are your best friend.
I wore the Loop Experience 2 Plus earplugs by the pool during a resort staycation. They were blasting party music through giant speakers, and as much as I wanted to enjoy the sun, I didn’t want the pounding bass in my ears. Experience 2 Plus toned it down just enough so I could read my book and still be aware of what was going on around me.
In addition to their functionality, their design and look is also unmatched. The gold finish was extremely chic and I love how it meshed with my earrings just like jewelry! The intention to create earplugs that could not only protect your ears from damaging noise, but also blend seamlessly to your outfit at live events is something I applaud Loop for. This style of Loop Earplugs comes in gold (featured here), black, rose gold, and silver - so there is variety that suites everyone. Another bonus feature that I appreciate with this style of Loop Earplugs is the Loop Mute Accessories. The mute accessory allows you to add extra noise control and reduction by placing it in the middle of the Loop Earplugs. This accessrory comes in black and white and is pretty effortless to pop them in and out, depending on how muted you want the outside world to feel.
Experience 2 Plus is great if you’re someone who gets drained in social settings, or wants to enjoy live music and events without bursting an eardrum. It takes the edge off the noise without isolating you. You still feel present, just overall more comfortable. If only I got my hands on these Loop Earplugs back in my EDC festival days ... my ears would've thanked me.
I’ve used the cheap foam ones before, and they do the job in a pinch. But they’re not reusable, and they’re ugly and uncomfortable. Loop earplugs are way more stylish, way more comfortable, and they last. Plus, they don’t fall out when you move around. Foam plugs also block everything, which isn’t ideal if you’re trying to stay engaged in a conversation or hear your surroundings. Loop gives you control instead of cutting you off completely. I also tried over-the-ear noise canceling headphones, but they’re bulky and not something I want to wear to bed or at a concert. Every time I craved some silence while sleeping, I resorted to my noice-cancelling headphones, just for them to end up at the bottom of the bed while sleeping. With Loop, that concern is no longer. Loop Earplugs just fits more seamlessly into everyday life.
They’re also really discreet. I’ve worn them at the gym, around home, out in public, even to dinner. Most people didn’t even notice. And if they did, they just asked what they were and where I got them. Loop wins on looks and function.
Scrolling through reviews, a few things kept popping up:
Honestly, I agree with all of that. I even had my husband borrow my Switch 2 pair for a work trip and he was asking for a pair of his own the moment he got back. There’s a whole community of Loop fans who use them for flying, studying, parenting, concerts, and even working out. It’s cool to see how versatile they really are.
If you’ve been thinking about trying Loop Earplugs, I’d say go for it. They’re not a gimmick. They’re thoughtfully designed, comfortable, and they actually do what they promise. I’d recommend:
Personally, I’ll always keep a pair in my bag from now on. Life’s just better when things are a little quieter. If you’re sensitive to sound or just need a little more peace in your day, Loop’s a solid investment. Bonus: They make great gifts too. Everyone has a friend who could use a little less noise in their life.
I’ve tried a lot of products in the name of wellness and calm. These are one of the few that really earned a permanent spot in my daily routine. Matter of fact, I am wearing them right now as I write this review. If you’re on the fence, this is your sign to try them.

What’s the difference between Loop Switch 2, Quiet 2, and Experience 2?
Switch 2 is the most versatile and has three modes in one. Quiet 2 is best for sleep and deep silence. Experience 2 Plus helps lower volume in social settings while keeping conversations clear.
Yes. They reduce noise as promised, with different levels depending on which style you choose. They’re reusable, comfy, and discreet too.
Loop Quiet 2 is specifically made for sleep. It blocks out up to 27 dB and stays in place without hurting your ears.
It depends on the model. Experience 2 and Switch 2 (on certain settings) let you hear voices but soften background noise. Quiet 2 is more for total quiet.
If you deal with noise, overstimulation, or trouble sleeping, they’re 100% worth it. They’re not the cheapest, but they last and actually do what they promise.
